Requirements Purpose of the Position The Engineering Technician III will work on a team of engineers that is focused on process control and improvement in a manufacturing environment. This is done through hands on troubleshooting of manufacturing issues, conducting controlled experiments, as well as documentation and training on standardized procedures. The location of this position will be in Jessup, MD. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to: Independently perform complex processing tasks and experiments to support process development activities with minimal supervision by Fab engineers. Prepares final reports on experimental procedures, including results and associated data. Presents to engineering staff in a clear and organized fashion. Author and implement new or revised controlled documents such as work or equipment instructions and inspection criteria and implement into Labtrax. Coordinates new hire training with Engineering and Production Managements staff. Participates directly in training, authors training materials. Trains and mentors Process Technicians Proficient in Labtrax to address alarms, holds and other routine production delays. Generate and revise controlled documents such as work or equipment instructions and inspection criteria. Works with Fab Engineering and the Equipment Team to troubleshoot and solve hardware and software issues with production equipment. Conducts new equipment start-up and qualification procedures, documents results and assists area engineer to author work instructions and PM protocols. In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for: Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures. Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position. Physical Activities: Work may be active, could stand or sit for long durations and/or perform repetitious work at times. The employee may lift or move objects up to 20 pounds. Employees must grasp, manipulate, or assemble parts and components that are often very small. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, may be noisy at times. Must be able to wear appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment such as but not limited to masks, glasses, gloves, and specialty garments. The required PPE and training allow for the safe handling and processing of chemicals like adhesives, lubricants and solvents, and safe operation of job-related equipment and tools. Qualifications Experience: Minimum 7 years in semiconductor fabrication processes in a manufacturing or research role. Requirement may be waived for holder of a bachelorâs degree Education: Associate degree or higher in engineering, technology, or physical science; or US military electronics training Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in multiple Fabrication areas (i.e.: Photo, Etch, Cleave-Dice etc.) Ability to handle critical and fragile semiconductor materials and sensitive equipment Experience with hand tools, microscopes, and fabrication and measurement equipment Experience with Scanning Electron Microscope preferred (SEM) preferred Proficiency in general computer use and Microsoft Office Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with III-V semiconductor manufacturing and working in a clean room environment is preferred Other: This position requires the ability to access ITAR and export control items . As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Workers granted Refugee status, or Workers granted Asylum) upon hire. The estimated pay range for this role is $26.80 to $33.50 per hour depending on experience.
