About the Role We’re seeking a skilled and reliable Field Service Technician to service, maintain, and repair residential solar, battery storage, and generator systems. You’ll diagnose electrical issues, ensure compliance with NEC/AHJ standards, perform preventative maintenance, and deliver a first-class customer experience. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related components. Perform preventive maintenance — panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter and battery health checks. Commission systems and upgrades; ensure compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility standards. Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, clamp meters, thermal imaging) to assess system performance. Maintain accurate service logs, inspection reports, and photo documentation. Follow strict safety standards including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and fall protection. Respond to emergency and warranty calls as needed. Communicate clearly with homeowners, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction. Requirements Must-Have Requirements High school diploma or GED; trade school or technical training preferred. 4+ years of electrical experience (solar PV, battery, or generator background strongly preferred). State-required electrical certifications/licensing (e.g., journeyman or wireman). Strong knowledge of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements. Ability to read schematics and use electrical diagnostic tools. Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on roofs or in varying weather. Valid driver’s license with clean record. Strong communication and customer service skills. Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
