Share this job SVGs not supported by this browser. Description Granite State Manufacturing (GSM) is seeking experienced Class A Welders to join our precision fabrication team on first shift. This role is ideal for highly skilled welders certified to NAVSEA 1688 and EB-5341 standards, capable of performing complex, high-integrity welds that support the U.S. Navy submarine program and other mission-critical defense platforms. About the Opportunity As a Class A Welder, you’ll perform advanced welding operations across multiple processes, including GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), and GMAW (MIG) on a range of materials such as stainless steel, HY-80/100, and other marine-grade alloys. You’ll interpret detailed weld symbols and drawings, ensure complete compliance with NAVSEA, EB, and internal GSM quality standards, and work in alignment with production schedules (IAW schedule) to meet contract delivery requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality welds on components to NAVSEA 1688, EB-5341, and internal GSM procedures. Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions with precision. Execute welding on structural, pressure-retaining, and Sub-Safe components. Conduct pre-weld fit-ups, joint prep, and post-weld inspection per procedure. Verify weld quality through visual inspection and coordinate NDT where required. Collaborate with Planning and Supervision to execute work IAW production schedule. Maintain accurate records of welds, heat input, and materials per QA documentation requirements. Mentor lower-class welders and support cross-training initiatives. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Requirements Qualifications 5+ years of precision welding experience in a regulated or defense manufacturing environment. Current or recent certification to NAVSEA S9074-AQ-GIB-010/1688 or EB-5341 standards (preferred). Proficiency in GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding processes. Strong understanding of WPS/PQR requirements and weld traceability documentation. Ability to read blueprints and interpret complex weld symbols. Experience with fit-up, tacking, and welding of stainless, carbon, and nickel-based alloys. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to first-pass quality.
