Docker containers and orchestrates microservices using HashiCorp Nomad.

and continuous improvement.

Technical Oversight:
- Own technical designs for the Service Point, an embedded Linux appliance
running Docker container workloads orchestrated via Nomad.
- Guide the evolution of OS services, security hardening, container runtime
behavior, and system-level networking.
- Design for edge constraints, including:
- limited CPU/memory resources
- reduced operating footprints
- low-overhead and low-cost (cloud) orchestration
- secure remote updates and lifecycle management
- Establish robust strategies for appliance provisioning, upgrades, telemetry,
diagnostics, and recovery.
- Drive best practices in CI/CD, automation, observability, and system
performance.

Operational Excellence:
- Oversee reliable operation of Service Point across globally distributed, edge-
based deployments.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and analytics suited for remote or low-bandwidth
environments.
- Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for complex issues spanning Linux
internals, networking, containers, and orchestration.
- Partner with security teams to ensure hardened OS images, secure secrets
management, and compliance with enterprise expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with Cloud Platform and Product teams to ensure smooth
integration of Service Point capabilities.
- Communicate platform vision, technical decisions, constraints, and trade-offs
across the organization.
- Represent Service Point in technical planning, architecture reviews, and strategic
initiatives.

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s
preferred).
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3–5 years in technical leadership
or engineering management roles.
- Deep knowledge ofLinux internals, especially Debian:
- systemd, cgroups, namespaces

Nomad)
- Experience building and packaging applications: Makefiles and GNU toolchain,
Golang compiler toolchain (including cross-compiling), Debian packaging tools
(dpkg, apt, debuild)
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
- Demonstrated experience driving engineering rigor, CI/CD automation,
observability, and operational excellence.

Preferred:
- Previous experience with embedded Linux appliances, especially in networking or
edge compute environments.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and lightweight distributions such as k3s as
complementary orchestration tools.
- Experience designing or operating systems for constrained, highly distributed, or
offline environments.
- Background with encryption, key management, and secure infrastructure design.
