Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Transition Manager with strong Data Engineering and ETL domain knowledge to lead and execute end-to-end service and project transitions. This role will ensure smooth transfer of knowledge, minimal disruption, and a successful handover into steady-state operations across data and analytics projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, lead, and execute end-to-end transitions for data engineering and analytics projects, ensuring minimal business disruption.
· Define and align transition success criteria, outputs, and deliverables with clients and stakeholders.
· Manage detailed transition and migration plans, including infrastructure, ETL workflows, data pipelines, and reporting environments.
· Lead and monitor Knowledge Transfer (KT) for data tools and processes (ETL, data warehousing, orchestration, etc.).
· Identify and mitigate transition risks related to data flow, platform migration, and tooling dependencies.
· Provide regular updates and governance reports to stakeholders and leadership teams.
· Oversee transition financials and ensure adherence to cost and schedule targets.
· Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and cloud platform teams (Azure, AWS, GCP) for seamless execution.
· Support RFPs/pursuits with transition solution inputs specific to data and analytics engagements.
· Conduct go/no-go assessments and ensure successful service acceptance into steady-state operations.
· Document and share lessons learned to improve transition frameworks.
Key Skills
· Strong understanding of ETL tools (SSIS, IICS, Datastage, etc.) and database technologies (Oracle, DB2, Netezza, SQL Server).
· Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL workflows, and data migration best practices.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
· Strong governance, reporting, and risk management skills.
· Experience working in global, multi-vendor, and hybrid cloud environments.
Requirements
· 10–15 years of IT/Service Management experience, including 5+ years in transition or transformation management within data engineering or analytics programs.
· Proven experience leading data-centric transitions involving ETL, databases, and BI platforms.
· Understanding of ITIL and project management frameworks (Agile, PMP, PRINCE2).
· Hands-on experience in knowledge transfer, service migration, and client onboarding in data projects.
· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for transition activities.
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
· ITIL v3/v4 certification required.
· PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification preferred.
