Be a part of an integral team, playing a vital role in assessing whether patients are suitable candidates for surgery at our facility. In this essential position, youâll work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and surgical teams to gather health information, review screening questionnaires, and follow up on medical clearances and lab results. With a focus on ensuring that patients are fully prepared for surgery, youâll provide clear, compassionate communication about surgery details, including timing, preparations, and what to expect. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping patients navigate their surgical journey with confidence, ensuring they get the care they need at the right place and at the right time. A Day in the Life · Conduct pre-admit screenings both in person and over the phone, going through surgery questionnaire, and following up on medical clearances and labs to assess their suitability to have surgery at Reno Orthopedic Surgery Center; · Communicate with patients by answering a multi-line phone system and via electronic mail as required to resolve questions and issues; · Provide accurate, detailed information to patients regarding surgical time, test preparations, scheduled arrival time, and any other directional information needed; · Update medications and allergies in the patientâs electronic medical charts; · Assist surgery schedulers as needed with reviewing physician surgery schedules, calling patients and offering tentative surgery dates. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Certifications/Education: High School Diploma/GED Knowledge of: Customer services principles and practices; Experience: Using computer systems and applications, including entering data and typing.
