The Opportunity
As our Senior Accountant, you won't just be part of the accounting department—you'll be a key architect in building it. This is a hands-on opportunity to help design and implement best-in-class accounting processes and controls from the ground up.
We are looking for a leader with strong technical accounting skills, business acumen, and a strategic mindset. Reporting to the Controller and working closely with Company Presidents, you will play a critical role in establishing and scaling our financial operations. Success in this role requires initiative, a passion for driving change, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth business.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Core Accounting & Close
- Lead the full-cycle month-end close process for multiple entities using Sage Intacct and FloQast, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage all aspects of revenue recognition (ASC 606).
- Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and achieve key metrics (e.g., a 10-day monthly close).
Transactional & Compliance
- Review outputs from core transactional functions: AP (invoice processing), AR (billing and collections), and payroll (for both salaried and hourly employees).
- Manage state and local sales and use tax compliance, including review, return preparation, and data gathering.
- Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Company Presidents and department managers, providing financial insights to support operational decisions.
- Assist the Controller with parent company reporting, team development, and other strategic projects.
- Serve as a key resource for the management team, translating complex financial data into actionable information.
- Model the highest ethical standards as a leader in the organization.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of progressive GAAP accounting experience.
- Proven experience managing a full-cycle general ledger and month-end close process from start to finish.
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition).
- Knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and invoicing functions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
- A resourceful, "can-do" attitude with strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a team-first mindset.
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves):
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience in a multi-entity environment
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting
- Experience with system implementations
- Proficiency with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or FloQast
