Position Summary The social media coordinator is part of the UMC communications team. The role's primary responsibility is to plan and produce shareable video, photo, and written content for existing and emerging social media platforms to raise the visibility of North Park University and to support enrollment marketing efforts. Target audiences include prospective, current, and former students; student families; and related communities. The role requires familiarity with North Park's editorial and branding style guides and typically oversees a student worker. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Conceptualize and produce shareable content across multiple social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube) to promote North Park University and advance the institution’s strategic communications goals Leverage social media to promote North Park University, generate brand awareness, grow brand loyalty, and drive an increase in enrollment Execute and update the existing social media strategy, with a focus on brand storytelling and thought leadership Manage the social media editorial calendar; meet with key stakeholders to ensure that constituent needs are met Foster community engagement with North Park University across social media platforms, responding to comments and direct messages in a timely manner Maintain an understanding of higher education social media best practices, North Park’s key goals and audiences, media genres and techniques, and publishing platforms Produce media consistent with university policies, programs, branding, style, timelines, and deadlines On an assigned schedule, analyze data, draw actionable insights, and report on the effectiveness of the university’s shareable digital content in achieving strategic communications goals Review and monitor analytics with the UMC team; suggest recommendations for future actions and improvements to optimize performance and matriculation Attend university events for social media coverage, and sometimes photographic coverage Other duties as assigned Work Schedule Expectations: Requires some evening and weekend availability to cover university events. UMC is on a hybrid schedule: remote Mondays and Fridays, in-person Tuesdays–Thursdays. Salary Range: $52,000 - $56,000 Annually Requirements Bachelor’s degree, preferably in advertising, public relations, marketing, communications, or a similar field (or equivalent experience) required. Minimum one to two years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or similar role with demonstrated success Demonstrable mastery of strategic communications through shareable social media content, including photography, videography, writing, and editing on mobile devices and across applications Proficiency with Canva, Excel, Word, video editing tools, and project management software Fluency with social media platforms and a strong grasp of social media landscape and trends Adept at tracking and analyzing social media analytics data Ability to handle multiple projects at once, with a built-in sense for what should be prioritized Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work with minimal supervision Ability to communicate effectively, via verbal and written methods, with both technical and non-technical personnel Team player with professional demeanor and customer service abilities Eagerness to work in a changing/growing environment and develop new skills as new applications emerge Personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Prescription Plan Commuter Benefit Life Insurance Disability Insurance Retirement Plan Tuition Remission Helwig Recreation Center Apply for this job
