At Convergent Energy and Power, our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive by leveraging state-of-the-art energy storage and distributed generation technologies. The Manager supports Convergent’s capital raising efforts and financial operations, including HoldCo/Mezzanine financing, non-recourse project financing, tax equity, and valuation analysis for our rapidly growing portfolio of assets. This role is responsible for financial modeling, maintaining valuation methodologies, and coordinating deal execution from evaluation to financial close. Collaborating across teams and with external stakeholders, the Manager ensures optimal financing solutions and streamlined processes. This is an individual contributor role and therefore does not have any direct reports but will be expected to exercise informal mentorship to junior employees. What You’ll Do Capital Raising and Transaction Management (50%) o Support capital raising activities including HoldCo/Mezzanine financing and non-recourse project financing such as debt (e.g., construction loan, term debt, back leverage), leases and tax equity for renewable energy battery storage, and other energy-related technology development projects. o Assist the deal captain or serve as the deal captain to coordinate internal and external tax, accounting, and legal teams to develop appropriate transaction structures specifically related to tax-incentivized financing (utilizing expertise in capital accounts, basis, depreciation) and debt financings o Assist with the deal-closing process, including coordinating reviews and approvals across multi-functional teams, to bring transactions to financial close under tight timeframes. Financial Analysis and Valuation (25%) o Ability to review completeness and accuracy of detailed financial analysis and valuation models to evaluate the economic merits and risks associated with contracted / merchant revenue tariffs and/or off-take contracts with different financing options. o Develop and maintain robust valuation methodologies with key defensible assumption driving the pro-forma financials, oversight of valuation at the project and overall portfolio level. Collaboration and Support (25%) o Partner with deal captain, accounting, tax to implement hedging and other risk management strategies to mitigate embedded currency, rates, and commodity risks as appropriate. o Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership to optimize financing structures and portfolio growth. o Serve as a key liaison between internal teams (development, project execution, procurement, legal, tax, accounting, asset management) and external stakeholders, to ensure alignment on transaction goals and mitigating potential risks Requirements Required Qualifications o Bachelor’s degree finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, computer science and other engineering disciplines o 4-6 years of experience in a similar role. o Proven team player collaborating with diverse internal teams such as asset management, pricing/analytics, project execution, procurement, legal, tax, accounting and external consultants (IE, insurance/market consultants, appraisers, and ITC insurance) to deliver structured yet streamlined financing solutions along with optimal risk allocation. o Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to concisely present information to senior management and third parties. o Ability to prepare and present financing marketing materials, including teasers, CIMs, and other internal committee memos. o Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment being able to handle multiple high-pressure, time-sensitive deadlines typical of a transaction-based environment. o Highly proficient in Excel. o Excellent analytical skills. o Ability to build and maintain complex financial models. o Build and present PowerPoint presentations. o Intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly. o Ability to multi-task. o Alignment with Convergent’s mission and values: Continuous Improvement, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Ethical Governance, Safety, Sustainability, Collaboration, Ownership, Resilience, and a strong interest in the Clean Energy Transition. o 10% travel expected. May include site visits, conferences and meeting with financing counterparties. Preferred Qualifications o Master’s degree. o Ability to translate financial jargon and other financing requirements to other departments/divisions in a way that fosters trust and collaboration. o Experience mentoring junior employees.
