Who We Want
The Compliance Capacity Specialist supports the Carrier Compliance Manager and the broader Compliance team by managing key compliance functions that ensure carrier qualifications and authority align with regulatory and internal standards. This role is responsible for onboarding new carriers, maintaining carrier profiles and compliance systems, proactively responding to and resolving real-time alerts, continuously reviewing changes within the carrier network, reviewing DOT inspection history, and ensuring up-to-date insurance compliance. The position plays a vital role in creating processes and SOPs, working with carrier reps to mitigate risks to support the company’s operational goals through reliable and repeatable compliance practices.

What You'll Do

Carrier Onboarding & Qualification Management

    • Lead and manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new carriers, ensuring all required documentation, insurance, and authority qualifications are verified and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
    • Outline and resolve unique regulation concerns for US, Mexico, and Canada carriers, allowing carrier capacity to be added to the network.
    • Utilize internal tools and third-party monitoring services to proactively identify and remove non-compliant or high-risk carriers from the network.
    • Support strategic growth initiatives by helping to qualify carriers identified from various prospecting sources.

System Maintenance & Data Integrity

    • Update and maintain carrier compliance systems to reflect real-time status changes, including authority revocations, reinstatements, inspection history, and safety alerts.
    • Conduct detailed reviews of carrier profiles, verifying capabilities and compliance history to support network expansion.
    • Ensure data accuracy to support operational efficiency and risk management by verifying contact information and address accuracy.

Real-Time Monitoring & Network Health

    • Monitor real-time and daily compliance alert systems and dashboards for changes in authority and other business rule criteria.
    • Take proactive action on carriers identified as overbooked or out of range for pickup, and those that are causing service disruptions.
    • Review reports (FreightGuard, WatchDog, etc.) filed against the carrier throughout the industry to ensure continuous qualification of the carrier network.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits of DOT inspection data and trends; work with carriers to resolve inspection issues and track improvement plans where needed.

Cross-Functional Support

    • Act as a compliance subject matter expert to assigned sales teams, providing support and guidance to the Sales and Operations teams.
    • Respond to escalations, clarify protocols, and provide timely resolution of compliance-related processes and issues.
    • Liaise with insurance providers and third-party certificate systems to confirm timely renewals and updates to carrier insurance coverage to reduce liability to Arrive and our customers.
    • Generate and distribute routine compliance reports, including key metrics, audit results, and status summaries. Provide analysis and identify trends or issues requiring escalation.

Process Documentation & SOP Updates

    • Update and maintain compliance-related standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Propose enhancements based on system updates, regulatory changes, or audit findings.
    • Continuously improve processes based on carrier feedback, regulatory updates, and strategic objectives for each freight mode.
    • Stay current with industry regulations, FMCSA policy changes, and market trends to effectively communicate impacts and propose process adjustments to leadership.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics, business, or compliance-related fields.
    • 2+ years of experience in carrier compliance or transportation industry operations.
    • In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, insurance requirements, and carrier onboarding practices.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and compliance/monitoring platforms.
