The world is making the shift to cleaner energy, slowly. The planet is changing, fast.

That’s why Akaysha builds, owns, and operates the most powerful mega-scale battery storage solutions of today, and it’s why we’ll continue to build more.

But what we are really building is a better future for everyone we share the planet with.

With a 30GWh+ portfolio spanning APAC, the Americas, and the EU and a global team of over 200 - Should we slow down, or should the world catch up?

As a Senior Associate, Commercial, you’ll join the team driving market innovation through the development and implementation of advanced offtake products that include capacity swaps, virtual tolling, and revenue-sharing agreements. In 2025, Akaysha was awarded the PFI Battery Deal of the Year and has developed industry-first virtual toll offtake and battery revenue swap agreements.

Delivering executional support for Akaysha’s upcoming projects as they approach financial investment decisions is key in this role. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams each day, distilling and clarifying complex issues to drive effective resolutions. Additionally, you’ll ensure technical considerations are integrated into commercial agreements and provide support for offtake and other commercial contracts, including OEM and BOP contracts.

You’ll have the opportunity to substantially influence major decisions in the energy sector and have a material impact on accelerating the Energy Transition in supporting:

  • Commercial negotiations through coordination of project document reviews (OEM, BOP and Connections), risk assessments, timeline management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Offtake origination and execution by contributing to strategy development, evaluating new revenue products, supporting cross-team alignment, and building strong relationships with potential offtakers.
  • Market strategy by tracking trends and policy developments, analysing new markets, integrating insights across teams, and supporting procurement and regulatory alignment.
  • Business development by identifying partnership opportunities, preparing investment proposals, supporting deal structuring, and contributing to commercial strategy through collaborative workshops.

Making an impact in this role will rely on experience across the following areas:

  • A strong foundation in procurement and supply chain management, with technical knowledge of long-lead and battery component procurement, supplier engagement, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proven capability in project agreement risk analysis, with the ability to assess risk across interconnected agreements to ensure alignment with commercial and operational objectives.
  • A solid grasp of the market and industry, including an understanding of energy sector dynamics, compliance frameworks, and applied knowledge of the Australian energy market and BESS-related regulations.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to deliver clear, evidence-based messaging and adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences and contexts.
  • Demonstrated strength in change and resilience, showing adaptability in navigating uncertainty, solving problems, and maintaining focus to drive positive outcomes in complex environments.

We’re committed to staying ahead of the curve and our people are Akaysha’s greatest asset. We support career growth and wellbeing through initiatives such as:

  • Professional Development Support including annual development allowance, additional paid time off, and internal academy courses.
  • Benefits such as annual wellbeing allowance, paid parental leave, and mobile phone allowance.
  • Competitive pay with above-market performance bonuses and long-term incentives.
  • Centrally located offices, and a genuinely flexible and hybrid approach to workdays.

We believe diverse teams build better solutions for the planet and its people. We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to do their best work, no matter their background, identity, or lived experience.
