The Learning Design Manager is responsible for designing and developing engaging, instructionally sound learning programs that help teammates build the skills and knowledge needed to succeed and grow in their careers. This includes leading the instructional design of role-based programs for advisor roles (e.g., Foundations, Manager, Lead Advisor), people manager development experiences, and beyond.
This role partners closely with the Learning Program Manager and receives content direction, source materials, and subject matter expertise from that partner and others. The Learning Design Manager translates this input into high-impact learning experiences across various modalities, including instructor-led, virtual, and digital learning formats.

Key Responsibilities - Instructional Design and Delivery
- Apply instructional design best practices and adult learning theory to design and develop instructionally sound learning solutions.
- Develop engaging learning experiences that enhance the learner journey and drive performance improvement.
- Utilize multiple formats such as instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, eLearning, and blended learning.
- Collaborate with the Learning Program Manager and stakeholders to ensure training aligns with team strategy and rollout plans.
- Occasionally facilitates virtual or in-person training sessions to support role-based training programs, train-the-trainer programs, or high-priority initiatives.
Key Responsibilities - Technology Integration & Innovation
- Stay current with and integrate emerging learning technologies—including AI, adaptive learning platforms, and generative tools—into instructional design practices to enhance scalability, personalization, and learner engagement.
- Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Articulate 360, Storyline) to streamline content creation, automate assessments, and generate learner personas that inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, and data analysts to ensure learning experiences are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with behavioral science principles.
- Explore and apply innovative approaches such as microlearning, augmented reality, and data-driven personalization to elevate the learner journey.
Key Responsibilities - Project Management
- Own and project manage the design, development, and delivery of multiple training programs across the firm.
- Provide clear timelines and manage project phases in collaboration with stakeholders and SMEs.
- Use project planning tools to prioritize, sequence, and communicate deliverables.
- Ensure continuous feedback loops and maintain version control of learning materials.
Key Responsibilities - Strategy & Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Learning Program Manager to support program design and delivery strategies and gather relevant information to develop content aligned with learning objectives.
- Participate in learning strategy discussions and governance groups to help shape content priorities and rollout sequencing.
- Work across departments and with senior leaders to understand business goals and integrate training solutions.
- Collaborate with SMEs and process owners to build content that reflects current practices and systems.
Key Responsibilities - Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze performance data to identify learning needs and opportunities.
- Conduct evaluation using formative, summative, and usability testing methods.
- Support post-launch measurement of comprehension, retention, and business impact.
- Stay current with trends in adult learning, instructional design, and digital learning technologies.
Qualifications - Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Education, or related field preferred. Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field a plus.
- 3-5 years of instructional design experience. Experience in a finance/wealth management environment (client service or operations) a plus.
- Experience creating training programs across multiple modalities and technical subjects.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with shifting priorities.
- Experience delivering live and virtual training sessions a plus.
Qualifications - Technical Skills
- Proficiency in authoring tools such as Captivate, Articulate (Storyline and Rise), or Camtasia.
- Experience with presentation and graphics tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Experience designing asynchronous (on-demand) and synchronous (live) learning experiences.
- Experience working with and managing Learning Management Systems (e.g., Docebo, Cornerstone).
- Working knowledge of video/audio editing and basic front-end web design is a plus.

Compensation
- Pay: $98,000 - $145,000 per year
