We’re seeking a Buyer to join our Mobile Fluid Power business unit in Savage, MN. In this role, you’ll play a key part in our procurement and inventory control operations — helping to keep materials flowing smoothly to our customers while learning the ins and outs of supply chain management in an industrial distribution environment.

Essential Functions:

    • Support the execution of procurement processes to maximize on-time delivery and maintain optimal inventory levels.
    • Maintain inventory master data and warehouse records in our Trend system.
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers and manage the supply chain process in line with SunSource “Best Practices.”
    • Process supplier returns and credits for defective, obsolete, or excess materials.
    • Collaborate with your team to proactively manage excess and obsolete inventory.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between SunSource and our suppliers.
    • Schedule and organize cadence and escalation meetings as needed.
    • Participate in ongoing training and development (both guided and self-paced) to strengthen your procurement expertise.

Experience, Education and Skills

    • High School Diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred
    • 1+ year of experience in procurement, inventory control, or a similar role
    • Experience in industrial distribution or manufacturing preferred
    • Familiarity with hydraulic, fluid power, or off-highway mobile equipment components a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
    • Eagerness to learn complex processes and grow within a dynamic team environment

Work Environment

    • Primarily a seated, office-based role (more than 50% of the workday)
    • Occasional walking and standing required
    • Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary
