Position: Material Handler / Forklift Operator
Location: Cocoa, FL
Duration: Contract to Hire
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay Rate: $ - $. (Depending on experience)
General Description:
This position is ideal for someone who can act as a switch hitter, meaning you’ll be ready to take on various tasks as needed. The Material Handler will assist with a variety of duties, including skidding, operating machines, using an overhead crane, parts cleaning, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle, move, and stage materials within the facility.
- Operate forklift to transport materials and assist with production processes.
- Help with skidding materials, ensuring that all items are appropriately packaged and prepared for shipment.
- Run machines as needed to support production, ensuring smooth operations.
- Perform parts cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and readiness of materials.
- Assist with inventory management, keeping track of materials and supplies.
- Ensure that safety protocols are followed while operating equipment and handling materials.
- Provide support to various departments as required to ensure efficient production workflows.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely.
- Strong ability to multi-task and adapt to changing duties throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial environments a plus.
- Willingness to learn and take on various tasks across different areas of production.
