The Group Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and cash management activities of the corporate entity within a holding company structure. This includes general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, intercompany transactions, payroll processing, banking activity, and monthly financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and highly organized, with strong accounting and analytical skills and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Main Responsibilities General Accounting & Reporting Perform full-cycle accounting for the corporate office, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements with supporting workpapers. Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries. Accounts Payable Manage vendor setup, invoice processing, and weekly payment runs. Review and ensure proper coding, approval, and posting of invoices. Maintain vendor records and support 1099 filings and year-end reconciliations. Payroll Process corporate payroll accurately and timely (e.g., biweekly or semi-monthly). Reconcile payroll-related accounts (wages, benefits, withholdings, taxes, etc.). Partner with HR to ensure proper onboarding, terminations, and benefit updates. Maintain payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Banking, Wires, and Cash Management Manage daily cash position and bank balances; ensure adequate liquidity for operations. Initiate and process wire transfers, ACH payments, and bank transactions. Reconcile all bank accounts monthly and investigate any discrepancies. Maintain banking relationships and ensure proper internal controls around access and approvals. Forecast short-term cash needs and provide cash flow visibility to management. Intercompany Transactions Prepare and record intercompany billings for shared services, management fees, and allocations. Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure timely settlements. Support elimination entries and consolidation activities during close. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with leadership and other departments to support corporate initiatives and reporting needs. Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis. Provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making. This role sits onsite in Charlotte, NC 4 days a week with 1 remote day on Friday. Requirements Bachelorâs degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required. 4â7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or holding company environment. Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting. Understanding of intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Experience with payroll processing (Paylocity preferred). Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc.) Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). Familiarity with online banking platforms and wire/ACH processes. Exceptional attention to detail and accountability. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
