POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Accounts & Access, the Regional Access Manager is responsible for proactively and reactively engaging with assigned health care providers. This role requires a strategic mindset, collaborative approach and a strong commitment to a culture of ownership, accountability and trust. RAM’s will engage HCPs to provide access education within assigned regions, leveraging appropriate access resources to support the HCP access experience and patient access.

RAM’s will also educate cross-functional teams on payer policies, collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve access challenges, provide field insight to inform access strategies, and engage assigned accounts to execute strategic plans.  

This position will support our western US region.  Candidates located in this geography are preferred. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with Disc cross-functional team members on overall account and territory strategy to maximize internal/external customer knowledge on payer policy and processes.
  • Support patients pull-through with appropriate access education.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the US market access landscape. This includes payer policies, prior authorization requirements, denials, appeals, peer to peer and other education required to navigate access
  • Create short-term & long-term strategic account plans focused on increasing customer knowledge and access confidence for key accounts
  • Collaborate with Disc Patient Services and Orsini Specialty Pharmacy on individual case management needs related to HCP education and patient pull-through
  • Assess key metrics including time to therapy to support ongoing innovation and collaborations to meet or exceed performance objectives.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related business, healthcare or scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical/ biotech industry
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with specialty pharmacy and buy/bill networks 
  • Understanding of access process from Rx to shipment 
  • Experience with products that require prior authorization and clear understanding of related billing, coding and in-office support 
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, inside and outside of the company
  • Ability to educate physicians and other healthcare professionals with confidence and expertise in an office procedural environment
  • Strong rapport building and active listening skills
  • Problem solver with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
