Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the translation of Workato's business goals into architectural designs. This role will shape our technology strategy, drive enterprise-wide innovation, and establish governance frameworks that scale with our growth. You will also be responsible to:

Guide the architecture of Workato Genies (AI agents) using Agent Studio to solve complex business problems.

Leverage AI and machine learning technologies to build scalable, intelligent solutions that drive business value.

Translate business goals into architectural designs and develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy.

Establish and lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and define enterprise architecture governance, standards, and compliance frameworks.

Conduct gap analysis, maturity assessments, and lead technology evaluations and proofs-of-concept for emerging technologies.

Build and maintain an enterprise architecture repository, including reference architectures, patterns, and best practices.

Lead API management and integration pattern strategy across the business.

Engage with C-level executives to communicate architecture vision and influence technology investment decisions.

Mentor business systems analysts and business operations teams, building communities of practice around architectural excellence.
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related disciplines
-
8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture or related field
-
TOGAF 9 or TOGAF 10 certified
-
Proven track record of stakeholder management at executive levels
-
Experience establishing or participating in architecture governance processes and Architecture Review Boards
-
Demonstrated ability to develop architecture roadmaps and business cases for technology investments
-
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
-
Knowledge of data architecture, API strategy, integration patterns, and microservices architecture
-
Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
-
TOGAF certification
-
Experience with automation platforms (Workato, Zapier, or similar)
-
Experience building AI agents or intelligent automation solutions
-
Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Salesforce) and hands-on cloud architecture experience
-
Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development patterns
-
Knowledge of zero-trust security frameworks and enterprise security architecture
-
Experience leading digital transformation initiatives and organizational change management
-
Track record of mentoring technical teams and building architecture communities of practice

The pay for this role may range between $150,000 - $200,000 plus variable, benefits, perks, and equity.
