Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to support the upkeep and functionality of our Asheville manufacturing facility. This role involves hands-on maintenance work, coordination of facility projects, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial maintenance, construction, and groundskeeping, with a strong understanding of safety protocols. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe work environment through training, adherence to policies, and consistent housekeeping. Ensure cleanliness and organization of all plant areas including restrooms, break rooms, training rooms, production floor, and outdoor spaces. Perform routine cleaning tasks and manage waste removal, including heavy debris. Support post-maintenance clean-up and inspections. Maintain and stock cleaning supplies and tools. Perform groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, trash pickup, and snow/ice removal. Conduct minor repairs and maintenance projects including lighting, ceiling tiles, painting, plumbing, and small construction tasks. Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and equipment upkeep. Regularly clean machinery and auxiliary equipment. Maintain safe working conditions and support environmental standards. Other duties as assigned. Complexity and judgment Regularly encounters problems that involve multiple-choice options, but through prior exposure, experience and established procedures/policies can resolve most appropriate course of action. Work involves both routine and non-routine tasks within well-defined standards. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities or industrial maintenance. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred. Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Familiarity with industrial cleaning supplies and powered industrial vehicles. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Must wear required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.). Ability to work 8–12-hour shifts and perform repetitive motions. WORKING CONDITIONS The physical effort required is considerable due to heavy physical activities of various kinds. The physical setting is categorized as moderate owing to the exposure to a variety of substances or equipment, encompassing moving machinery, repetitive motions, noise, and powered industrial equipment. Regular work is performed in a non-controlled temperature environment. These exposures could produce discomfort and/or moderate risk of accident or ill health. The sensory attention is deemed moderate as it commonly involves heightened demand on two or more senses simultaneously. The mental stress is considered moderate due to regular pressures from due dates, quotas and accuracy.
