Wachter is currently accepting applications for a Draftsman in the Lenexa, KS office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, accurate technical drawings and plans that translate design concepts into tangible project schematics. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure all drawings are precise, complete, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.

Requirements:

    • Associate's degree or certificate in a relevant field and proven experience as a draftsman.
    • Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD or Revit is required, with knowledge of BIM software being a plus.
    • 5 or more years in electrical drafting and design. 
    • Skilled understanding of architectural and engineering principles.
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow-up skills. 
    • Mathematical and analytical abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and familiarity with industry regulations and building codes.
    • Effective time management.

Responsibilities:

    • Integrating electrical conceptual drawings into complete project documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software involves a structured workflow of planning, drafting, and coordination.
    • Collaborate with engineers and architects to gather design specifications, calculations, and structural requirements.
    • Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project managers and design teams, ensuring all changes are accurately documented.
    • Ensure that all designs and drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation and filing systems for all project drawings and records.
    • Assist in the preparation of project materials lists and cost estimates.
    • Conduct occasional site visits to verify measurements and gather data for designs as needed.
    • Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regard to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior, and appearance.
$25 - $35 an hour
