JOB SUMMARY: The Compliance Monitoring & Testing Specialist sits within the second line of defense and is responsible for assessing compliance risks and controls implemented by the business units through the monitoring and testing function.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute compliance testing and monitoring reviewsin accordance with the Bank’s Compliance Management Program and with consideration to the Bank’s Compliance Monitoring and Testing Policy
- Assess the effectiveness of key processes and controls designed to address state and federal compliance and escalatecontrol issues, potentialviolations of law, and non-adherence to enterprise-wide policy
- Prepare and communicate results through various reports to Compliance Management, Business Units, and Management Committees
- Stay informed of industry issues and trends and regulatory updates
- Assist with updates to the Compliance Risk Assessment based on the results of testing performed
- Be familiar with the Bank’s Fair Banking/Lending Program
- Collaborate with both Compliance and Line of Business management to develop corrective action plans to remediate compliance findings
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, compliance testing, or auditing role at a financial institution required
- Experience working in a risk-based compliance program and completing compliance risk assessments preferred
- Familiarity with risk management practices, internal controls, and audit and review processes preferred
- Experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws, regulations, and applicable guidance is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders across different levels of the Bank
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
- Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
- Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach
The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. $70,000 (entry level qualifications) to $80,000 (highly experienced).
