Share this job SVGs not supported by this browser. Description Symmetrio is seeking a Contract Specialist on behalf of our client, a multinational medical device organization. This position requires deep experience in U.S. government contracting, with a focus on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) sectors. The Contract Specialist will play a key role in managing contract lifecycles, ensuring compliance, and supporting administrative and operational oversight for complex medical technology and service agreements. This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on business needs. Responsibilities Manage and oversee the full contract lifecycle for VA and DoD agreements, from proposal through closeout. Review RFPs, RFQs, and contract terms to ensure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Prepare and submit contract documentation, pricing data, and required reporting deliverables. Serve as the point of contact for contracting officers, program managers, and internal stakeholders. Support negotiation of contract terms, modifications, extensions, and renewals. Coordinate with finance and operations teams on billing, funding allocations, and cost tracking. Maintain records and ensure audit readiness per government standards. Requirements 7+ years of experience managing or administering U.S. government contracts, ideally within the VA or DoD. Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and federal acquisition processes. Experience with medical device, defense, or technical service contracts preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and compliance. Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with both government and internal teams. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or NCMA certification a plus).
