Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HR Advisor to support the delivery of a high-performing HR function during a period of transformation. This role will play a key part in embedding the Helix HR operating model, ensuring consistency, compliance, and excellence across all HR generalist activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in HR operations, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What skills and working characteristics should this person have?
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong generalist HR background with demonstrable experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Working knowledge or experience with the Helix HR model (or similar HR operating frameworks).
- In-depth understanding of UK employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
- Experience managing HR systems (e.g., HR Cloud, Office Vibe) and maintaining accurate employee data.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels, including C-suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience supporting or leading HR transformation or change initiatives.
- Familiarity with compliance training coordination and policy documentation.
- Exposure to employee engagement tools and analytics.
As a HR Advisor, you’ll be responsible for:
- HR Operations & Systems
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR Cloud and other HR systems.
- Ensure all role changes, amendments, and organisational updates are reflected promptly in systems and documentation.
- Support the implementation and embedding of the Helix HR model across the HR function.
- Employee Lifecycle Support
- Manage HR administrative processes related to onboarding, role changes, promotions, and exits.
- Prepare and issue HR documentation including contracts, letters (e.g., probation, pay changes), and policy updates.
- Coordinate and support exit interviews and offboarding processes.
- Compliance & Policy
- Ensure HR practices comply with current employment legislation and internal policies.
- Assist with the coordination and documentation of compliance training, including tracking attendance and policy acknowledgements.
- Support policy reviews and risk assessments, ensuring documentation is current and accessible.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Support and minute formal meetings such as disciplinaries, grievances, and performance reviews.
- Help manage employee engagement tools (e.g., Office Vibe), ensuring data accuracy and insights are shared with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with managers and stakeholders across departments to provide consistent HR support.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, ensuring alignment on HR initiatives.
