The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and executing core accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close, financial reporting and account reconciliations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, compliance with GAAP and support for audits and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, analytical and capable of improving processes to support a growing organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Manage accounts payable coding, approvals and expense accruals.
- Support payroll journal entries and employee benefit reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet and income statement variances.
- Support management with financial performance analysis and reporting.
- Assist in preparing schedules for audits, tax and external reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to internal control policies and GAAP standards.
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Participate in external and internal audit and tax requests and compliance reviews.
- Support ERP (e.g., NetSuite, , Divvy, Expensify) maintenance and data accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
- Assist with integration of new systems or subsidiaries, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Experience with SaaS, digital health or multi-entity structures a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and accounting software (NetSuite or similar).
- Familiarity with GAAP, ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 340 (Deferred Commissions) and ASC 350 (Software Capitalization).
- Experience with financial reporting tools and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
$95,000 - $110,000 a year
