Job Summary The Recording Clerk is responsible for receiving and recording all recordable documents from closing, ranging from deeds, mortgages, release of mortgages, power of attorneys, etc. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Schaumburg office. This is not a remote position. Responsibilities: Pull city of Chicago stamps within 7 days of closing Open FedEx/overnight delivery envelopes and distribute items Review documents to verify correct verbiage, accurate dates, and resolve issues Examine deeds, deeds of trust, mortgages and verify all information is correct Ensure there are no errors in the documents, including verification of correct dates, dollar amounts, and that all signatures and notaries are correct and accurate Production expectations: Submit for recording 12-15 full closing files a day including pulling the stamps as needed. (12-15 files includes all documents related to that file - i.e. deed, mortgage etc. equals 1 file) Resolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory Organize and Prioritize files Audit/Review documents meet counties specific requirements. Note the file with problems and follow up with closers Orders municipal Transfer Stamps needed Additional duties as assigned Requirements 1+ year of relevant experience preferred Excellent research and organizational skills enable the position to complete the recording process in a timely manner. Possesses outstanding ability to prioritize and organize multiple simultaneous tasks within strict timelines Exhibits excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency in working with a large volume of files Possesses a strong background in customer service Good writing and proofreading skills Self-starter Able to maintain professionalism and a positive service attitude at all times Benefits Medical Dental 401k with match Paid Time Off Volunteer Time Off Apply for this job
