That’s why Akaysha builds, owns, and operates the most powerful mega-scale battery storage solutions of today, and it’s why we’ll continue to build more.
But what we are really building is a better future for everyone we share the planet with.
With a 30GWh+ portfolio spanning APAC, the Americas, and the EU and a global team of over 200 - Should we slow down, or should the world catch up?
As a Senior Paralegal, you’ll be joining the Legal, Risk and Compliance pillar, which supports Akaysha’s operations as a global corporation across every phase of the asset lifecycle - from design and build through to ownership and operation. Overseeing regulatory compliance, contracts and IP, risk, governance, insurance, and transaction support, the team has recently delivered significant outcomes across regulatory tenders, financing facilities, and large-scale asset construction.
Managing the legal inbox is a central part of this role, with responsibility for supporting lawyers in the administration of NDAs and Business Agreements. As the first point of contact for incoming legal requests, you’ll triage matters efficiently and process documentation with accuracy to streamline workflows and keep the legal team responsive and well-supported in a fast-paced environment.
The role also focuses on maintaining accurate corporate records and assisting with file management, with an emphasis on tracking and recording contractual obligations to meet compliance standards. By keeping legal records well-organised and accessible, you’ll contribute to the effectiveness of the Legal, Risk and Compliance team and help deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across the business.
Based in Akaysha’s Sydney office, this role embraces a hybrid working model offering flexibility in how workdays are structured and will:
- Support governance and legal operations by maintaining corporate records, coordinating board documentation, managing legal budgets, and improving document systems for accuracy and compliance.
- Lead legal request triage and contract review, maintain tracking systems, and enable timely, accurate responses aligned with continuous improvement.
- Conduct legal research across jurisdictions, monitor regulatory developments, and prepare lawyer-reviewed insights and updates for internal stakeholders.
- Drive process improvement and legal tech adoption to streamline workflows, enhance consistency, and support contract management, compliance, and spend tracking.
- Support compliance monitoring by tracking contractual and regulatory obligations, collaborating across teams to ensure requirements are met, and contributing to internal compliance resources under lawyer supervision.
Making an impact in this role will rely on experience across the following areas:
- Managing complex legal information with precision, structuring workflows to meet competing deadlines, and proactively identifying compliance risks.
- Communicating clearly and building trust across legal, business, and external stakeholders to support smooth operations.
- Designing and maintaining compliant, confidential, and audit-ready legal document systems with strong version control.
- Leading workflow design and process improvements, tracking legal metrics, and enhancing team efficiency.
- Evaluating and implementing legal tech tools, training others, and leveraging platforms like contract lifecycle, compliance, and spend systems.
- Conducting cross-jurisdictional legal research and translating findings into actionable insights for strategic decisions.
- Monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes, advising on business impacts, and supporting proactive compliance planning.
