Key aspects of this role Team Leadership: Manage a field-based team of Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) covering multiple states and provider organizations across the U.S. Oversee team efforts to prepare for and implement educational programs surrounding new products and indications, with a strong focus on strategies that maximize patient access. Customer Engagement Oversight: Support the team in delivering comprehensive coverage and reimbursement education to HCP office staff, helping to integrate Ascendis products seamlessly within physician practices. Reimbursement Analysis and Strategy: Analyze and address reimbursement and access issues, acting as a resource to support the team and other field-based colleagues, including Sales, Market Access, and regional and national leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Market Access, Sales, and Patient Support, to support targeted accounts and ensure the resolution of reimbursement issues or concerns. The FRM National Manager reports to the Director, Field Reimbursement Strategy and Operations Engagement and is expected to be field based. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a national team of Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) Partner with the Director, Field Reimbursement Strategy and Operations Engagement to develop strategies & tactics for the FRM team and serve as a functional subject matter expert Partner with PSP and Commercial Operations to develop mechanisms and processes to regularly monitor account activity against goals and provide ongoing updates to the organization through Quarterly Business Reviews Ensure the team executes activities in compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of Ascendis Pharma leadership Develop KPIs / MBOs for the team in collaboration with the Director Field Reimbursement Strategy and Operations Plan, direct, implement, and oversee activities of FRMs for a specific geographical region In partnership with Commercial Training, Ensure FRMs are properly trained on and compliantly using all approved promotional materials and systems Direct FRM team in educating healthcare providers and their staff in academic medical centers, hospitals, and community practice settings on product coverage, patient support program enrollment process, and patient support offerings Proactively monitor and oversee development of FRM plans to address changes in the coverage/reimbursement landscape that may impact patient access to products and services Identify opportunities and drive initiatives to improve customer engagement, education, and advocacy Partner and collaborate with FRM leader peers to ensure alignment and consistent application of business rules and strategic objectives Identify and facilitate the sharing of best practices across the FRM team Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support key Ascendis Pharma strategic market access activities and ensure highly effective customer account planning and engagements Work cross-functionally to ensure effective pull-through of reimbursement and access strategies supporting new product and/or new indication launches as well as the pull-through of new product coverage and reimbursement Demonstrate deep knowledge of reimbursement and access, and function compliantly as the subject matter expert in their assigned geography Demonstrate extensive knowledge across managed care accounts, geographic presence/influence, payor mix, product coverage and reimbursement criteria policies Partner with Patient Support Team to ensure accurate coverage determinations, and optimized processing of enrollments for timely access of product for patients Develop business plans by performing strategic analyses of customers; identify issues and opportunities Collaborate with Sales leadership to develop a local access strategy plan that ensures achievement of KPI goals and delivery on all objectives Partner across the organization to continuously improve patient access deliverables, services, and customer experience Lead by example and continuously demonstrate Ascendis Pharma Values Requirements Bachelor’s degree 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech or related healthcare industry 5+ years’ experience with Specialty Pharmaceuticals / Biologics Progressive field leadership experience and demonstrated record of successful management and team leadership Deep understanding and utilization of Specialty Pharmacy and third-party services In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance, patient confidentiality, product reimbursement and product access requirements Knowledge of regulations and laws governing the protection of patient identifying information, and relevant laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to access offerings The estimated salary range for this position is $200-225K. Actual salary determination is dependent on a variety of factors some of which include: experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus or an incentive compensation plan (eligibility varies based on role and position level), discretionary stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package.
